Design-Bid-Build is the most well known and traditional contracting method for construction projects. It differs from the design build approach in that the general contractor does not enter the process until after the design is complete. All design decisions and construction documentation are completed prior to the general contractor bidding the project. Completed construction documents are released for competitive bid to general contractors where the most competitive bid typically secures the project.
